Mennike*

Adam Mennike, a farmer, his wife Magdalena, and daughter Maria (age 1) are recorded on the 1767 census of Beauregard in Household No. 44. They had settled there on 27 August 1766.

Margaretha Mennike, presumed daughter of Adam Mennike, and her family are recorded on the 1798 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. Ka091.

The 1767 census records that Adam Mennike came from the German village of Weißbach.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Mennike family among the Volga German colonies.

Menges (Beauregard)

Johann Christoph Menges, a farmer, and his wife Rosina settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 27 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 59.

The 1767 census records that Johann Christoph Menges came from the German village of Scherstong [?].

Meier (Beauregard)*

Johannes Meier, a farmer, and his wife Barbara settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 27 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 34.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Meier came from the German village of Hendendein [?].

There are no known surviving male lines of this Meier family among the Volga German colonies.

März / Mertz (Beauregard)*

Johannes März, a farmer, his wife Barbara, and son Konrad (age 13) are recorded on the 1767 census of Beauregard in Household No. 46. They had settled there on 27 August 1766.

The 1767 census records that Johannes März came from the German village of Kirchhausen.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Mertz family among the Volga German colonies.

Maaß (Beauregard)*

Johann Georg Maaß, a farmer, and his wife Sophia settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 27 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 38 along with stepson Johann Karl Friedrich Jäger (age 9-months).

The 1767 census records that Johann Georg Maaß came from the German village of Massenheim.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Maaß family among the Volga German colonies.

Lieber (Beauregard)

Konrad Lieber, a farmer, and his wife Anna settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 27 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 56.

The 1767 census records that Konrad Lieber came from the German village of Rumstadt.

Grünfeld

Ferdinand Kranefeld [sic], a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 27 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 47.

Ferdinand Grünewald [sic] and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Beauregard along with a note that he is working in the colony of Katharinenstadt.

The death of Ferdinand Grünfeld in 1823 is recorded on the 1834 census of Beauregard in Household No. 43.

The 1767 census records that Ferdinand Kranefeld [sic] came from the German village of Münster.
