Koppel (Beauregard)*

Friedrich Koppel, a soldier (Soldat), and his wife Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 27 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 53.

The 1767 census records that Friedrich Koppel came from the German village of Fürstenwerder in Prussia.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Koppel family among the Volga German colonies.

Koch (Beauregard)

Christian Gottfried Koch, a farmer, and his wife Juliana settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 27 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 35.

The 1767 census records that Christian Gottfried Koch came from the German village of Kosswig.

Götz (Beauregard)

Andreas Götz, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 23 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 36.

The 1767 census records that Andreas Götz came from the German region of Erinz [?].

Edel (Beauregard)

Karl Edel, a single hosier (Strumpfwirker), settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 5 March 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 67.

The 1767 census records that Karl Edel came from the German region of Oschorburg [?].

Baumann (Beauregard)

Franz Laumann [sic], a single man, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.

Franz Laumann [sic] is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

This Franz Laumann is believed to be the Franz Baumann, a single Hussar - member of the light cavalry (Husar), who settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 27 August 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No 63.

Triller (Basel)

Kaspar Triller, a single farmer, and his brother Heinrich (age 8) are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Boisroux in Households No. 79 & 80 along with a note that they settled in the colony of Basel in 1768.

Kaspar Triller and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Basel in Household No. Bs27 along with his brother Johann Heinrich and his family.

The 1767 census records that Kaspar Triller came from the German village of Eiche [?].

Schul(t)z (Basel)

Christoph Schulz, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the galliot Anna Katharina under the command of Skipper Johann Joachim Janson.

Christoph Schultz [sic] and his wife Christiana are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Meisner (Basel)

Karl Andreas Meisner, his wife Christina, and sons (August, age 9; Andreas, age 7) arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 21 September 1766.

Carl Andreas Meisner, his wife Christina, and sons (August, age 9½; Andreas, age 7) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that the mother Christina died en route.
