Schepp / Schett*

Georg Schepp / Schett, a butcher (Fleischer), settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 26 June 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 122 along with a note that his wife had died during the trip under the command of Oberleutenant Dunkel.

The 1767 census records that Georg Schepp / Schett came from the German village of Innsburg [Innsbruck?] in the Tirol region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.

Braun (Brabander-2)*

Orphan Katharina Braun (age 16) is recorded on the 1767 census of Brabander in Household No. 91 along with the Wilhelm Zimmer family along with a note that her parents had died as part of the group led by Lieutenant Ditmer.

The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Braun and Zimmer families. The 1767 census does not record from where the Braun family came.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Braun family among the Volga German colonies.

Braun (Brabander-1)

Johann Braun, a farmer, his wife Maria, and children (Johann, age 12; Angelia [sic], age 9; Susanna, age 7; Maria, age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum aboard the galliot Der Jan under the command of Skipper Markus Dragun.

Johanes [sic] Braun, his wife Maria, and children (Johann, age 12; Engel [sic], age 9; Susanna, age 7; Maria, age 3¾) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that mother Maria and daughter Maria died in route.

Dimm*

Georg Ludwig Dim & Anna Maria Hiebler were married on 20 May 1766 in Roßlau.

Ludwig Demm [sic], a cooper (Fassbinder) and his wife Anna Maria settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 5 September 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 103.

Ludwig Dimm and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Brabander in Household No. Bn42.

The deaths of Ludwig Dimm in 1807 and his son Andreas in 1808 are recorded on the 1811 census of Brabander in Household No. 42.
