Bald / Wald*

Widower Franz Bahlt [sic], a craftsman (Handwerker), settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 1 June 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 71.

Franz Bald [sic] (age 28), presumed to be the son of Franz Bahlt [sic], is recorded on the 1798 census of Göbel in Household No. Gb22 as the adopted son of

Franz Wald [sic] from Göbel is recorded on the 1811 census of Hölzel in Household No. 35 along with a note that he had arrived in Hölzel from Göbel in 1803.

Sator

There are 4 young children with the surname of Sator recorded on the 1798 census of Frank. Brothers Johann Heinrich (age 18) and Nikolaus (age 12) Sator are recorded in Household No. Fk018 along with the Johannes Schäfer family.

Sisters Elisabeth Margaretha (age 14) and Margaretha (age 8), daughters of the deceased Gottfried Sator, are recorded in Household No. Fk132 along with their stepfather Christoph Müller.

Some translations of the 1798 census erroneously record this surname as Seder.

Rode

Johann Samuel Rode, a stonemason, his wife Cecilia Katharina, and sons (Christoph Rudolph, age 7; Rudolph Ernst, age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 September 1766 aboard the galliot Der Jan under the command of Skipper Markus Dragun.

Johann Samuel Rothe [sic], his wife Sophia Catharina, and sons (Christoph Rudolff, age 8; Rudolff Ernst, age 1) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that son Rudolff Ernst died en route.

Buchheim*

Nikolaus Buchheim [erroneously recorded as Buchhammer], a single baker, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 September 1766 aboard the galliot Der Jan under the command of Skipper Markus Dragun.

Johann Nicolas Buchheim is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Nikolaus Buchheim and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Frank in Household No. Fk124 [sometimes erroneously translated as Punheim].

Kühn (Frank)

Johann Conrad Kühn, son of Georg Heinrich & Maria Margaretha Kühn, was born in Semd on 13 June 1727 and baptized 15 June 1727. Elisabetha Margaretha Mohr, daughter of Hieronÿmy & Maria Catharina Mohr, was born 17 August 1728 and baptized 20 August 1728. Conrad and Elisabetha Margaretha married on 25 February 1755.

Hopp (Frank)

Konrad Hopp and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Frank in Household No. Fk101.

Konrad Hopp and his sons [Christian, age 29; Heinrich, age 5½; Georg, age 1) are recorded on the 1811 census of Frank in Household No. 101.

The death of Konrad Hopp in 1826 is recorded on the 1834 census of Frank in Household No. 225.

Christoph Hopp, son of Konrad Hopp, and his family are recorded on the 1850 census of Frank in Household No. 268 along with a note that Christoph died in 1840.

Foos (Frank)

Philipp Foos, a farmer, his wife Barbara, and children (Maria, age 20; Hartmann, age 15; Johann [Philipp], age 14; Ottilia, age 10; Johannes, age 6) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the pink Lev under the command of Lieutenant Fyodor Fyodorov.

A Philipp Foos is recorded on the 1798 census of Frank in Household No. Fk070.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Philipp Foos came from the German region of Friedberg.
