Merkel (Grimm)*

Sisters Elisabeth (age 14) & Barbara (age 7) Merkel are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 37 along with their stepfather Mattias Lonsinger.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Merkel family among the Volga German colonies.

Lehl (Grimm)*

Veronkia Hoffmann, widow of Johann Lehl, and their two daughters Eva Margaretha (age 15) and Katharina (age 11) are recorded on the 1798 census of Grimm in Household No. Gm068.

There are no known suriving male lines of this Lehl family among the Volga German colonies.

Heffel (Grimm)*

Philipp Heffel and his wife Franziska are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 32.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Heffel family among the Volga German colonies.

Knippel (Grimm)*

Orphan Johann Friedrich Knippel (age 15) is recorded on the 1775 cenus of Grimm in Household No. 83 along with the Nikolaus Kenzler family. The 1775 census does not record a relationship between the Knippel and Kenzler families.

There are no known continuing male lines of this Knippel family among the Volga German colonies.

Haas (Grimm)*

Johann Andreas Haas and his wife Anna Louisa are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 66.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.

Gillig (Grimm)

Samuel Gillig and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Grimm in Household No. Gm150.

The death of Samuel Gillig is recorded on the 1834 census of Grimm in Household No. 220.

Kenzler (Grimm)

Nikolaus Kenzler, his wife Maria Katharina, daughter Barbara Katharina (age 7), son Konrad, daughter-in-law Katharina, and grandsons (Heinrich Wilhelm, age 2¼; Valentin, age 6 weeks) are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 83. Orphan Johann Friedrich Knippel (age 15) is also recorded in this household, but the census does not record a relationship between the Kenzler and Knippel families.

Valentin Kenzler is recorded on the 1798 census of Grimm in Household No. Gm105.

Fries (Grimm)*

Sisters Maria Elisabeth (age 9) & Anna Maria (age 8) Fries are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 35 along with their stepfather Johann Georg Schmidt.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Fries family among the Volga German colonies.

Finschuh*

Sisters Eva (age 8½) and Maria Katharina (age 2¾) Finschuh are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 43 along with their stepfather Anton Jäger.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Finschuh family among the Volga German colonies.

Boxhorn

Konrad Bockshorn, a joiner, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Andreas, age 16½; Gottfried, age 14; Michael, age 11; Lorenz, age 8; Georg, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Conrad Bockshorn, his wife Elisabet, and sons (Andreas, age 16; Gottfried, age 14; Joh. Michael, age 11; Joh. Lorentz, age 8; Georg Michael, age 4) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
