Sperl

Heinrich Sperl was born in approximately 1792 in the German region of Mecklenburg. He served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk.

He is recorded there on the 1834 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 94, on the 1850 Census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 26, and on the 1857 Census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 35 along with a note that he had died there in 1856.

Spendel

Karl Spelten [sic] was born in approximately 1795 in France. He served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Seelmann.

Karl Spendel is recorded there on the 1834 Census of Seelmann in Household No. 19, on the 1850 Census of Seelmann in Household No. 26, and on the 1857 Census of Seelmann in Household No. 35.

Schmidt (Katharinenstadt-1)

Ludwig Theodor Schmidt served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt. He is recorded there on the 1834 Census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 349 along with a note that he had been removed from the list of colonists in 1824.

Spätter (Messer)

Heinrich Spätter was born 5 May 1795 in Germany. He served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. Documents related to him as a captured Napoleonic soldier refer to him being from the German region of Westfalen.

He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Messer. He is recorded there on the 1834 Census of Messer in Household No. 186.

Stenger

Georg Stenger was born in approximately 1788. He served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk. He is recorded there on the 1834 Census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 91 and on the 1850 Census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 141 along with a note that he had died there in 1841.

Streif

Michael Streif was born in approximately 1794. He served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Yagodnaya Polyana.

He is recorded there on the 1834 Census of Yagodnaya Polyana in Household No. 183 and on the 1857 Census of Yagodnaya Polyana along with a note that he had died there in 1850.

Fischer (Katharinenstadt)

Johann Christian Fischer was born in approximately 1787. He served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt. He is recorded there on the 1834 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 323 and on the 1850 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 430 along with a note that he had died there in 1842.

Fiedler (Katharinenstadt)

Ludwig Fiedler was born in approximately 1789. He served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt.

He is recorded on the 1834 Census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 331 along with a note that he had died there in  1827.

Pozenhard

Benedictus Pozenhard was born in approximately 1781. He is recorded on the 1834 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 352 along with a note that he came from Pisan as a prisoner of war in 1820. He left the colony in 1834 for Louis. He is recorded on the 1834 census of Louis in Household No. 139.

Torr

Joseph Torr was born in approximately 1789 in the region of Brabant (today part of the Netherlands). He served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt. He is recorded on the 1834 Census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 348 along with a note that he was removed from the list of colonists in 1817 and that his wife had been absent since 1819.
