Discussion & Documentation

Johann Hartmann Kindsvater, son of Johann Michael & Katharina Elisabeth Kindsvater, was born 1 July 1718 in Herxheim-am-Berg. He married on 31 January 1747 in Herxheim-am-Berg to Anna Margaretha Müller.

The Hartmann Kindsvater, his wife Anna, and children (Johann, age 20; Daniel, age 18; Elisabeth, age 16½; Sophia, age 14; Justina, age 8; Werner, age 5) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp.

The Kindsvater family settled in the Volga German colony of Dietel, but the available 1767 census of Dietel is incomplete and the Kindsvater family is not recorded on the extant portion.
