Walter (Frank)

Friedrich Walther, son of Johann Heinrich & Maria Catharina Walther, was born 23 February 1722 in Herrenmühle. He married Anna Elisabeth Leiß, daughter of Johannes Leiß. They have 5 known children, of whom the two oldest (Maria Elisabeth, age 20, and Elisabeth Margaretha, age 15) accompanied them when they immigrated to Russia.

Waldschmidt (Meinhard)

Johannes Waldschmidt, son of Johann Ludwig Waldschmidt & Anna Catharina Steinmüller, was born 23 July 1742 in Fellingshausen (today part of the Biebertal area) in Oberhessen. He was baptized 27 July 1742 in Rodheim am Bieber.       

Johannes immigrated to Russia, arriving in Boisroux on 17 August 1767. He is recorded there on the appendix to the 1767 Census of Boisroux in Household No. 43 along with wife Elisabeth (age 25).

Wagner (Frank)

Johannes Wagner, son of Johann Conrad Wagner & Anna Maria Müller, was born 23 December 1723 in Langgöns, Hessen, Germany. His lineage is traced to Baltzer Wagner who was born there in 1620/1630.

Johannes Wagner married on 16 May 1752 in Rendel to Anna Margaretha Burbach.

Johannes Wagner, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Eva, age 14; Christina, age 12; Johann, age 9; Philipp, age 7; Conrad, age 4; Sebastian, age 1/6) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the pink Lev under the command of Lieutenant Fyodor Fyodorov.

Waag

Johann Georg Waag, son of Johann Georg Waag & Gertraud Kiefer, was born 31 December 1727 and baptized 4 January 1728 in the Evangelical Church of Sprendlingen. He married on 29 March 1749 in the same church to Maria Elisabetha Gerhardt, daughter of Johann Nicolaus Gerhardt & Anna Margaretha Helfmann. Maria Elisabetha Gerhardt had been born in neighboring Langen on 17 January 1728.

Volz (Balzer)

Johann Leonhard Volz, son of Johann Jacob Volz (bapt. 14 May 1702) & Johanna Dorothea Brüstel (bapt. 4 March 1706), was baptized on 14 March 1735 in Öhringen.

Leonhard Volz, a farmer, his wife Margaretha, and children (Georg Thomas, age 15; Elisabeth, age 9; Wilhelm, age 4; Barbara, age 1) are recorded on the 1767 census of Balzer in Household No. 13. They had arrived in Balzer on 28 August 1765.

Wilhelm Volz and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Balzer in Household No. Bz046.

Vogel (Walter)

The 1767 census of Walter records that the Vogel family came from the German village of Gelnhaar. Further research revealed that they actually came from the village of Wenings, a few kilometers northeast of Gelnhaar.

Vogel (Dönhof)

Johann Jacob Vogel, son of Johann Nicolaus Vogel, married Sophia Daum, daughter of Johann Conrad Daum, on 23 May 1758 in the Evangelical Church of Gross-Zimmern, 10 kilometers east of Darmstadt. Their daughter Gertraud was born on 10 February 1762 and baptized on 12 February 1762 in Gross-Zimmern.

Johann Jacob Vogel and his family emigrated to Denmark. They departed from Altona (Duchy of Holstein) on 3 June 1762 under the leadership of Johannes Wenner. They arrived in the city of Flensburg, Duchy of Schleswig, on 9 June 1762.

Falk / Volk / Völck (Kind)

Johann Heinrich Hector Völck, son of Johann Magnus Völck & Helena Maria Raab, was baptized 30 October 1712 in a small village near Staufenberg named Lollar – north of Giessen. On 28 February 1737 he married in Staufenberg to Catharina Decker. She had been baptized there on 13 March 1712. He was a tailor, and served terms as a civil servant, counter clerk and town controller.

Utz

Johann Christoph Utz, son of Johann Michael Utz & Maria Agnes Bohlinger, was born on 29 August 1716 in Feldrennach, Württemberg. He married in nearby Birkenfeld on 28 January 1744 to Christina Barbara Ludwig, daughter of Johann Michael Ludwig & Anna Maria Dithiss (perhaps Dietz). Christina Barbara had been baptized in Birkenfeld on 22 July 1722.

At some point they moved to nearby Grünwettersbach where their children were born, among whom were Johann Jacob Heinrich (born 4 October 1746) and Johann Christoph (baptized 7 May 1755).

Ulrich (Dönhof)

Hans Georg Ulrich was born about 1698 in the area of Baden-Durlach in what today is the German state of Baden-Württemberg. He married Maria Rosina, a widow who had been born in 1713. Maria Rosing had a daughter from her previous marriage, Katharina Scheelen, who had been born in 1738. Hans Georg & Maria Rosina had a boy, Hans Georg Martin Ulrich, born on 20 November 1752 in Hagsfeld, today a northeast suburb of Karlsruhe.
