Zirckgiebel / Zürckgiebel

Michael Ziergiebel, son of Mathias & Barbara Zirnkibl [sic], was born in Rübling on 12 June 1667 and died 9 March 1726 in Brensbach. He married in Brensbach on 13 May 1690 to Anna Elisabetha Jung, daughter of Nicolaus Jung & Anna Trinkaus. Anna Elisabetha Jung had been born in Brensbach on 16 May 1670 and died there on 9 September 1741.

Zieg (Balzer & Messer)

There are several inter-related Zieg families that immigrated to Russia from the German village of Hüttengesäß.

(1) Johann Caspar Zieg married 12 June 1727 in Hüttengesäß to Catharina Kuhn, daughter of Johann Jost Kuhn & Elisabeth Gerd. Catharina Kuhn had been baptized in Hüttengesäß on 14 August 1711.

The baptisms of at least two sons to Johann Casper Zieg & Catharina Kuhn are recorded in the parish registers of Hüttengesäß: (a) Ernst baptized 17 October 1728; and (b) Philipp, baptized 14 December 1730.

Zentner (Sewald)

Florian Zentner was born about 1720 in Hamm am Rhein, a village that today is in the Alzey-Worms district of the German state of Rheinland-Pfalz. He married Maria Katharina (surname unknown), and they had two boys, each baptized in the Catholic Church in Eich: (1) Johann Adam, baptized 3 October 1751; and (2) Matthias, baptized in 1753.

Ziegler (Dobrinka)

Johann Georg Ziegler was born in 1732 in Spöck, just a few kilometers north-northeast of Karlsruhe, in the modern state of Baden Württemberg.

He married on 14 March 1755 in the Evangelical [Lutheran] Church in Graben (the next village to the north of Spöck) to Maria Elisabetha Wenz, daughter of Christoph Wenz & Anna Katharina Kleen. The bride had been born and baptized on 9 July 1729 in Graben. [See Wentz Family.]

Würtz (Yagodnaya Polyana)

Johann Georg Würtz, son of the late Johannes Würtz, and Anna Maria Loß, daughter of Johann Loß from Stornfels, married in Eichelsdorf on 29 July 1754. The baptisms of two of their three children have been located in the parish register of Eichelsdorf: (1) Johannes, baptized 7 November 1755; and (2) Johann Georg, baptized 22 July 1762.

The Würtz family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 September 1766.

Wolf (Grimm-2)

Heinrich Daniel & Susanna Catharina Maria Wolff had seven known children, four of them baptized in the Evangelical Church of Georgenhausen, located about 11 kilometers east-southeast of Darmstadt: (1) Johann Bernhard, born in 1748; (2) & (3) twins Johann Jacob & Maria Barbara, born in 1750; (4) Ludwig Wendel, baptized on 4 September 1753; (5) Johann Michael baptized on 21 September 1755; (6) Maria Elisabetha, baptized on 8 February 1758; and (7) Susanna Maria Benigna, baptized on 9 March 1760.

Winkelhausen*

Johannes Winckelhausen, son of Balthasar Winckelhausen & Anna Maria Elisabeth Heid, was born 8 June 1727 in Rüddingshausen. He married Anna Elisabetha Dick, daughter of Johann Ludwig Dick & Anna Helena Seipp, on 19 July 1753 in Rüddinghausen. She was the widow of Jost Klinckel & Friedrich Becker. She had been born in Rüddinghausen on 4 August 1715. They have one known daughter, Anna Maria who was born 6 December 1753.

Windecker (Walter)

Johann Georg Windecker married Susanna Elisabetha Ehrlich had four children: (1) Anna Christina; (2) Franz Christian; (3) Anna Maria, born in June 1754 in Herrnhaag; and (4) Johann Benedict, born 26 September 1756 in Herrnhaag. Susanna died and in May 1762, Johann Georg remarried in Herrnhaag to Anna Elisabeth Wenzel, daughter of Conrad Wenzel.

Frantz Christian Windecker & Anna Catharina Koch, youngest daughter of the deceased Caspar Koch former subject of Lorbach, were married on 21 March 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.

Willmann (Messer)

Johann Ernst Willmann, son of Johann Henrich Willmann & Maria Elisabeth Lieder, was born 17 April 1727 in Düdelsheim. He married Anna Maria Hartt, daughter of Johannes Hartt & Anna Dorthea Trieber, on 7 April 1766 in nearby Wolf. Anna Maria Hartt had been baptized 12 April 1739 in Wolf.

They immigrated to Russia, arriving from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
