Ubert

Charle François Houbre was born 21 May 1714 in Dommartin, Picardie in France. He married Klara Krefeld who was from Kirchan bei Hanau (Hessen). Their son Kornelius was born in 1761 in Niederburg, near Mainz.

Charle Houbre, a dyer (Färber), his wife Klara Krefeld, and son Kornelius (age 7) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 83. They had arrived in Katharinenstadt on 23 July 1767.

Kornelius Houbre and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. Ka146.

Usinger (Müller)

Johannes Usener [sic] from Eichelhain & Anna Eliesabetha Eifert from Reppershaÿn in the area of Riedesel were married on 26 May 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.

Johann Usinger and his wife [Anna] Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Strelna under the command of Lieutenant Sornev.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Müller on 16 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 19.

Trippel

There are two Trippel families from Nieder-Eschbach that migrated to Russia. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.

(1) Johannes Trippel was born in 1725 in Nieder-Eschbach, today a district in the city of Frankfurt (am Main). He married Ursula Bechtel who had been born in 1726.

Trin

Christoph Trin was born on 6 July 1739 in the village of Herbstein, between Giessen and Fulda. He married there on 29 October 1761 to Maria Elisabetha Fleischer. She had been born there on 7 June 1740. They have one daughter born before they left Germany: Anna Maria Fridericka (born 21 August 1763 in Herbstein).

The family immigrated to Russia, arriving from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the hooker Die Jungfer Dietrika under the command of skipper Christian Korsholm.

Uhrich / Urich / Urig (Frank & Schwab)

There are a couple of Uhrich families from Groß-Umstadt that immigrated to Russia:

(1) Johann Bernhard Urig (Uhrich), son of Bernhardt Urig & Anna Margaretha Weber, was born 26 January 1748 in Groß-Umstadt.

He arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Johannes under the command of Skipper Stahl along with his sister Maria Katharina and her husband Konrad Grass.

Traut (Unknown)*

Barbara Rosina Traut was born in Herbstein, between Giessen and Fulda, on 16 September 1739.

Barbara Rosina Traut, a single woman, arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the hooker Die Jungfer Dietrika under the command of skipper Christian Korsholm.

Barbara Rosina Traut is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

It is not known in which colony she settled.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Barbara Rosina Traut came from the German region of Fulda.

Traub*

The parish register of Schriesheim records the birth of Hans Velten Traub, son of Andreas Traub & Anna Schlottenhöfer, on 25 July 1734.

Valentin Traub and his wife, Eva, arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig Mercurius with skipper Christian Heinrich Abelßen at the helm.

Trupp (Frank)

Johannes Trupp, son of Johann Heinrich Trupp from Langsdorf & Anna Catharina Bemmersheim, was born 26 November 1752. Johann Heinrich Trupp died in Wohnbach, Germany.

His widow and his only surviving child, Johannes, went to Russia, arriving from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Reders.

Cathrina Trapp [sic] and her son Johannes (age 8) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Toews

Jacob Toews, son of Jacob Toews (1806-1864), was born 26 June 1838 in Wotzlaff near Danzig.  [Wotzlaff today is located in Poland and known as Wocławy.]  He married 15 March 1860 in Prussia to Maria Wiebe, daughter of Christian Wiebe (b. 1805) & Catharina Andres (1813-1881). She was born 16 June 1838 in Neuendorf, Gross Werder, Prussia.

Jacob, Maria, and their children moved to Köppental.

Töpfer / Toepfer (Philippsfeld)

Johann Konrad Töpfer, son of Johann Heinrich Töpfer & Anna Gela Rosenkrantz, was born on 16 August 1736 in Schellbach, southwest of Remsfeld. He married Anna Martha Reichmann of nearby Remsfeld on 30 September 1765.

Konrad Töpffer, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of skipper Thomas Fairfax.
