Hansen (Stahl am Tarlyk)

Asmus Hansen and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Der Engel Rafael under the command of Skipper Ehlert Kongsted.

They settled in the Volga German colony of  Stahl am Tarlyk on 13 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 20.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Asmus Hansen was a carpenter while the 1767 census records that he was a shipswright (Schiffszimmermann).

Hansen (Dinkel)

Peter Hansen and Anna Rebecca Lass [sic] were married on 16 October 1765 in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lübeck.

Peter Hansen, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 3 June 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the command of Skipper Paul Adolph Drath.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dinkel on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 30

The 1767 census records that Peter Hansen came from the German village of Ginschte in the region of Holstein.

Hansel (Mariental)*

Matthias Hansel, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental on 14 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 58.

The 1767 census records that Matthias Hansel came from the German village of Echternach in the Kurtrier region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Hansel family among the Volga German colonies.

Hannemann (Urbach)

Balthasar Hannemann, his mother, and his stepfather Johann Gottfried Eberling arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig Mercurius under the command of Skipper Christian Heinrich Abelßen.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach on 13 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 11.

Hammer (Seelmann)*

Andreas Hammer, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 25 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Maria Sophia under the command of Skipper Johann Bauert.

Andreas Hammer, his wife Anna Maria, and sons (Joseph, age 13; Andreas, age 8) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Seelmann on 5 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 46.

Himmelmann*

Johann Georg Himmelmann, son of Johann Heinrich Himmelmann, married on 27 November 1724 in Kleinlüder to Eva Catharina Seelig, daughter of Johann Melchior Seelig of Weidenau.

Hamalka

Jakob Hamalka, a barber (Friseur), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Louis on 14 June 1766 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 28.

The 1767 census records that Jakob Hamalka came from the German region of Kulmitz.

In 1772, Johannes Hamalka moved to St. Petersburg. The remainder of his family moved to Saratov.

Hahn (Keller-3)*

Jakob Hahn, a farmer, and his wife Christina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the hooker Anna Catharina under the Skipper Adolph Scharpenberg.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Keller on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 31.

The 1767 census records that Friedrich Hahn came from the German village of Bodenheim in the Kurmainz region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Hahn family among the Volga German colonies.
