Huber (Louis)

Lorenz Huber, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Louis on 14 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 6.

In 1782, Lorenz Hubert and his family moved to Moscow.

The 1767 census records that Lorenz Huber came from the German village of Eckenfein in Bayern (Bavaria).

Houg*

Daniel Houg and his family immigrated to Russia.

Only daughter Anna Maria appears to have survived the journey, settling in the Volga German colony of Kukkus on 26 June 1767. She is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 23 along with the family of Nikolaus Höfner. No relationship to Nikolaus Höfner is recorded.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.

Heile

Leonhard Heil, a hunter (Jäger), and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 May 1766 aboard the galliot Anna Catharina under the command of Skipper Daniel Geier.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Kaneau on 7 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 56.

In 1786, Leonhard Heile and his family moved from Kaneau to Graf.

Leonhard Heile and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Graf in Household No. Gf01.

Heckenbinder*

Albertus Heckenbinder, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the Skipper Paul Adam Drath.

Albert Hekenbinder, his wife Magdalena (died en route), and children (Johan, age 14; Margretha, age 7) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Hecht (Mariental)

Joseph Hecht & Catharina Meseler were married on 24 June 1765 in Roßlau.

Joseph Hecht, a farmer, and his wife Katharina settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental on 16 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 3.

Joseph Hecht and his [new] wife Elisabeth Hunger née Katzmann are recorded on the 1798 census of Mariental in Household No. Mt44.

The widow of Johann Hecht, presumed son of Joseph Hecht, from Mariental is recorded on the 1798 census of Zug in Household No. Zg22 along with her son.

Heberlein (Walter)

Johann Christoph Eberlein from Reppeshain [Rebgeshain] in the district of Ulrichstein & Maria Eliesabetha Stein from Ulrichstein were married on 13 May 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.

Johann Christoph Heberlein [sic] and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Reders.

Haury

Franz Haury, a craftsman (Handwerker), settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental on 14 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 64 along with his new wife Margaretha from Bayern (Bavaria).

The 1767 census records that Franz Haury came from the German village of Prensach in Austria.

Hasselbach (Merkel)

Johann Friedrich Hasselbach, a single locksmith (Schlosser), settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 28 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 42.

The 1767 census records that Johann Friedrich Hasselbach came from the German district of Hamburg.
