Pinäkenstein

Wilhelm Pinäkenstein, a tailor (Schneider), and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Der Junge Mattias under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Selander.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Bangert on 1 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 4.

Both the translation of the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census errantly record his name as Wilhelm Benedict Stehm.

Weirich (Bangert)

Nicolaus Weirich, a stocking maker (Strumpfwircker) from the area of Dillenburg, & Anna Elisabeth Weÿer from the area of Dillenburg were married on 17 July 1766 in Pastor Möllraht's house in Lübeck. The marriage is recorded in the parish register of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church in Lübeck.

Nikolaus Weirich, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Der Junge Mattias under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Selander along with a servant, Franz.

Willersheuser

Johann Willersheuser and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Der Junge Mattias under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Selander.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Bangert on 1 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 5.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Willersheuer was a carpenter while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer.

Werth / Wirth (Bangert)

Franz Wirth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Der Junge Mattias under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Selander as the servant of Nikolaus Weirich.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Bangert on 1 July 1767. Nikolaus Weirich died 26 September 1767.  Franz is recorded on the 1767 census of Bangert in Household No. 31.

Franz Wirth and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Bangert in Household No. Bg05.

Sahl (Bangert)

Johannes Peter Sahl, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Der Junge Mattias under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Selander.

His surviving son settled in the Volga German colony of Bangert on 1 July 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 23 along with his new wife Christina.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Peter Stahl came from the German village of Niederlauken in the Nassau region.

Huber (Bangert-1)

Johannes Huber, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Elisabeth, age 25; Johann[es], age 19; Katharina, age 19; Anna, age 16; Philipp, age 7) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Der Junge Mattias under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Selander.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Bangert on 1 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 18.

Son Johannes Hubert and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Bangert in Household No. Bg16.

Schnorr (Bangert)

Philipp Schnorr, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Der Junge Mattias under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Selander.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Bangert on 1 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 17.

The 1767 census records that Philipp Schnorr came from the German village of Niederlauken in the Nassau-Usingen region.

Niederlauken, Kr. Hochtaunus, Hessen

There is evidence of a settlement located where Niederlauken is today since the Neolithic era. The first written mention of the village is from a document dated 1213.

In 1659, Niederlauken came under the jurisdiction of Nassau-Usingen.

As part of the administrative consolidation efforts of 1972, Niederlauken joined several other villages to under the administration of Weilrod.

Bangert

Willhelm Bangert, a miller, his wife Maria, their children (Georg, age 10; Anna, age 8; Johann, age 5; Heinrich, age 3; Katharina, age ½), and his single brother Johann [Heinrich] (age 26) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Der Junge Mattias under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Selander. The brothers Bangert did not settle in the same colony.
