Goldmann

Samuel Goldmann, a single man, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Börse von Lübeck under the command of Skipper Martin Friedrich Markau.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach on 3 July 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 32.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Samuel Goldmann was a farmer while the 1767 census records that he was a craftsman (Handwerker).

Leonhard(t) (Urbach)

Johann Leonhardt, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Börse von Lübeck under the command of Skipper Martin Friedrich Markau.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach on 3 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 35.

Christian Leonhardt (age 22), presumed son of Johann Leonhardt, is recorded on the 1798 census of Urbach in Household No. Ur29.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Leonhardt came from the German region of Trier.

März / Mertz (Urbach)

Michael Mertz, his wife Katharina, son Johann (age 1), and mother Jakobina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Börse von Lübeck under the command of Skipper Martin Friedrich Markau.

Wigoleus [sic] Mertz, his wife Maria Catrina, and mother Maria Jacobina are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach on 3 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 52.

Schmidt (Urbach-1)*

Gottfried Schmidt, a single man, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Börse von Lübeck under the command of Skipper Martin Friedrich Markau.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach on 3 July 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 31.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Gottfried Schmidt was a blacksmith while the 1767 census records that he was a craftsman (Handwerker).

Präger (Urbach)

Erdmann Berger [sic] & Catharina Elisabeth Liebrecht were married on 8 April 1766 in Roßlau.

Erdmann Präger and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Börse von Lübeck under the command of Skipper Martin Friedrich Markau.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach on 3 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 33.

In 1785, Erdmann Präger and his family moved from Urbach to Stahl am Karaman.

P(f)ister (Urbach-1)

There are two apparently unrelated P(f)ister families that settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach.

Georg Pister, a farmer, and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Börse von Lübeck under the command of Skipper Martin Friedrich Markau.

They settled in Urbach on 3 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 27.

Klapper*

Widow Katharina Klapper and her children (Anna Maria, age 17½; Maria, age 15; Just, age 12; Sophia, age 9; Georg, age 6) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a koff named Alette under the command of Skipper Wybe Hendricks.

Widow Catarina Klepper [sic] and her children (Anna Christina [sic], age 18; Maria Margaretha, age 17; Johann Martin [sic], age 14; Sophia, age 10; Johann Georg, age 7) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Appel (Yagodnaya Polyana)

There are three Appel families that settled in the Volga German colony of Yagodnaya Polyana on 16 September 1767. They are all part of the same Appel family from the German village of Ober-Lais.

Three of them arrived together from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the galliot Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson.

Fischer (Yagodnaya Polyana-1)

Johann Daniel Fischer, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the galliot Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson.

Daniel Fischer, his wife Catharina, and sons (Johann Georg, age 4; Johann Adam, age 1) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Yagodnaya Polyana on 16 September 1767 and are there on the 1767 census in Household No. 16.
