Schäfer (Norka-1)

Johannes Schäfer, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Henriette Julianna settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 15 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 22.

Widower Johannes Schäfer and his sons (Johannes, age 24; Heinrich, age 21; Johann Peter, age 15) are recorded on the 1798 census of Norka in Household No. Nr066.

Rousselle

Jakob Rousselle [spelled Rusilije in one translation and Rozel in another] and his wife Anna Maria settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 15 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 162.

Jakob Rousselle, his wife Anna Maria, and daughters (Dorothea Elisabeth, age 4; Maria Katharina, age ¼) are recorded on the 1775 census of Norka in Household No. 128.

In 1782, Jakob Rousselle moved from Norka to Saratov.

The 1767 census records that Jakob Rusilije [sic] came from France.

Ruppel (Norka)

Johann Georg Ruppel, son of Heinrich and Anna Catharina Ruppel, was born 12 November 1744 and baptized 15 November 1744 in Neuenhaßlau. Anna Elisabetha Scheibel, daughter of Gottfried & Anna Elisabetha Scheibel, was born 2 February 1739 and baptized 8 February 1739 in Niedermittlau. Johann Georg and Anna Elisabetha married 4 April 1766 in Büdingen.

Arnemann*

Heinrich Arnemann, a tailor (Schneider), and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.

Heinrich Arnemann and his wife Catharina are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Catharina died en route.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 3 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 89.

Ziegler (Norka)

Johannes Ziegler, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the pink Slon under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 15 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 151.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Johannes Ziegler came from the German district of Hessen.

Würtz (Norka)

Johann Wilhelm Würtz, son of Johannes & Anna Margaretha Würtz of Bergheim, was born on 7 February 1743.  Johann Wilhelm married Anna Maria Lochmann of Himbach on 17 August 1764.  The parish register of Eckartshausen records the baptism of one of their children, Elisabeth, born 23 October 1764 in Bergheim.

Johann Wilhelm Würtz, his wife Anna, and daughter Elisabeth (age 2) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard the ship Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg.

Zilg (Norka)

Johann Georg Zilg, his wife Katharina, and sons (Johann, age 6; Valentin, age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the barque named Fortitudo under the command of Skipper John Scott.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 15 August 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 145.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Georg Zilg was a farmer while the 1767 census records that he was a craftsman (Handwerker).

In 1798, Johann Heinrich Zilg moved from Norka to Kolb.

Spadi / Spady

Johannes Spadi, a craftsman (Handwerker), his wife Anna Margaretha, and children (Johann Konrad, age 13; Johannes, age 11; Anna Maria, age 3) are recorded on the 1767 census of Norka in Household No. 43. They had settled in Norka on 15 August 1767.

Son Konrad Spadi and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Norka in Household No. Nr022.

The death of Konrad Spadi in 1808 is recorded on the 1811 census of Norka in Household No. 22.

Schröder (Norka-2)*

Konrad Schröder, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard the ship Apollo under the command of Detlov Merberg.

Konrad Schröder and his new wife Louisa are recorded on the 1767 census of Norka in Household No. 215. They had settled there on 22 September 1767.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Konrad Schröder came from the German region of Isenburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Schröder family among the Volga German colonies.
