Winkelstern

Johan Hinr. Winckelstern, a cobbler (Schuster) from the area of Darmstadt, & Catharina Jürgenss from the county of Isenburg were married on 29 May 1766 in Lübeck. The marriage is recorded in the parish register of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church in Lübeck.

Erick [sic] Winkelstern, a farmer, and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Kronstadt under the command of Lieutenant Samuel Gibbs.

They are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Müller (Reinwald)

Johannes Müller, son of [Se]bastian Müller, and Elisabeth Landmann, daughter of Johann Georg Landmann, were married in Gedern on 17 November 1746.

They had three children whose baptisms are recorded in the Gedern parish register: (1) Johann Christoph, born 24 March 1747, baptized 26 March 1747; (2) Johann Phillip, born 8 December 1748, baptized 10 December 1748; and (3) Anna Maria, born 23 July 1751, baptized 25 July 1751. Johannes Müller died on 12 October 1752.

Meinhard(t) (Reinwald)

Johann Peter Meinhard, son of Johann Adam Meinhard & Catharina Lambmann, was baptized in Gedern on 9 October 1731.

He married in Gedern on 31 January 1758 to Anna Julianna Ruppel, daughter of Michael Ruppel.

The births/baptisms of 2 daughters born to Johann Peter Meinhard & Anna Julianna Ruppel are recorded in the parish register of Gedern: (1) Henriette Christine, born 1 December 1758, baptized 3 December 1758; and (2) Julianna Catharina, born 10 July 1762, baptized 12 July 1762.

Oberheim*

Johann Caspar Oberheim, son of Christoph Oberheim, was baptized on 3 August 1731 in Gedern.  He married in Gedern on 13 October 1763 to Elisabeth Landmann, daughter of Johann Georg Landmann and widow of Johannes Müller, who had died on 12 October 1752.  Caspar Oberheim and the widow Müller had had a son before they were married (Johann Christoph, born 4 September 1756, baptized 5 September 1756), and had two additional children following their marriage: (1) Johannes, born 23 July 1764, baptized 25 July 1764, died 29 July 1764; and (2) Carl, born 10 November 1765, baptized 12 Novem

Landmann / Langmann (Reinwald)

There are two Langmann families that settled in the Volga German colony of Reinwald on 24 June 1767. They arrived together from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax. Their relationship to each other need further research.

Barth (Reinwald)

Johann Paul Barth, son of Adam Barth & Catharina Margaretha Weber, was born in Gedern on 29 March 1739.

He married in Gedern on 23 June 1763 to Susanna Margaretha Fritz, daughter of Johann Conrad Fritz from Oberlaiß.

The births/baptisms of two children born to Johann Paul Barth & Susanna Margaretha Fritz are recorded in the parish register of Gedern: (1) Catharina Christina, born 27 December 1763, baptized 4 January 1764; and (2) Johann Adam, born 20 September 1765, baptized 22 September 1765.

Frick (Huck)

According to the Büdingen marriage register, Conrad Frick from Wolferborn married Elisabetha Catharina Loos from Leisenwald on 3 May 1766.

The Wolferborn parish register records that Conrad Frick, son of Johann Conrad Frick, was baptized there on 6 September 1739. The Spielberg parish register records that Catharina Elisabeth Loos, daughter of Johannes Loos of Leisenwald, was baptized there on 17 July 1746.

The couple arrived at the port of Oranienbaum in Russia on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.

Hartmann (Reinwald)

Johann Peter Hartmann, son of Nicolaus Hartmann, was born 15 April 1707 in Gedern, baptized there on 17 April 1707.

Johann Peter Hartmann married in Gedern on 26 January 1736 to Elisabeth Lambmann, daughter of Johannes Lambmann & Catharina Schlag. Elisabeth had been baptized in Gedern on 28 January 1714.

Kaiser (Norka-1)*

There are several Kaiser families that settled in Norka. At this time, it is not known if/how they are related to one another.

According to the Wolferborn parish records, Johann Michael Kaiser, son of Johann Kaiser of Michelau, and Elisabetha Schneider, daughter of Johann Melchior Schneider of Michelau, were married there on 12 March 1711. Among their children was Johann Thomas, who was baptized on 19 August 1725. There is no marriage record for Thomas in the Wolferborn parish records, so he must have departed for Russia as a single man.
