Jahnke*

In 1769, widow Anna Margaretha Jahnke and her children moved from Hummel to Meinhard.

In 1795, Ludwig Jahnke moved from Meinhard to Susannental.

Ludwig Jahnke from Meinhard and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Susannental in Household No. Ss09.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Jahnke family among the Volga German colonies.

Kesselring (Hummel)*

Stephan Kesselring, a single man, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Stephan Kesselring is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

The 1767 census records Stephan Kesselring, a single man, on an appendix to the 1767 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 58.

Köppel

In 1781, Johann Adam Köppel moved from Hummel to Kind.

Johann Adam Köppel from Hummel and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kind in Household No. Kd22.

The death of Adam Köppel in 1830 is recorded on the 1834 census of Kind in Household No. 20.

Andreas Köppel, son of Adam Köppel, and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Kind in Household No. 20.

Andreas Köppel and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Kind in Household No. 39.

Steinwasser*

Christian Steinwasser and his wife Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 September 1766.

Christian Steinwasser and his wife Maria are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Christoph [sic] Steinwasser, a linen weaver (Leineweber), and his wife Maria are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 42 along with a note that they settled in the Volga German colony of Basel in 1768.

Kaz

Christian Kaz is recorded on the 1798 census of Beauregard in Household No. Bo43 along with a note that he is working in Kind.

Helm (Beauregard)

The widow and children of Georg Heinrich Helm are recorded on the 1798 census of Beauregard in Households No. Bo12 & Bo20.

His descendants are recorded on the 1834 census of Beauregard in Households No. 27 & 47.

Gaus (Merkel)

In 1797, Johann Konrad Gaus moved from Merkel to Husaren.

Konrad Gaus from Beauregard and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Schönchen in Household No. Sn38.

These are believed to be the same Konrad Gaus because of the movement from a Lutheran colony to a Roman Catholic colony.
