Peppe

Widower Johann Heinrich Pepper [sic], a weaver (Weber), arrived in the Volga German colony of Bauer on 20 July 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 44.

Friedrich Jakob Peps [sic] and his sisters are recorded on the 1798 census of Bauer in Household No. Br39.

Friedrich Jakob Peppe from Bauer is recorded on the 1811 census of Jost in Household No. 26 along with a note that he had arrived in Jost from Bauer in 1808.

The death of Friedrich Jakob Peppe in 1831 is recorded on the 1834 census of Jost in Household No. 12.

Kaspar (Unknown)*

Johann Peter Caspar along with this wife and child stayed a short while in Mettenheim before immigrating in 1766 to Astrakan [at that time the name of the region in which the Volga German colonies were located].

Peter Caspar, his wife Catharina, and newborn son Paul Heinrich are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

It is not known in which colony they settled.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Kaspar family among the Volga German colonies.

Eichner (Biberstein)*

Christoph Elchner [sic], his wife Anna, and daughter Katharina (age 8-days) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 September 1766.

Christoph Elchener [sic], his wife Anna Sabina, and daughter Carolina Johanna (age ¼) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along iwith a note that his wife and daughter died in route.

Arn(h)old (Biberstein)

Georg Arnhold, a single farmer, is recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 82. He is recorded on the 1798 census of Biberstein in Household No. Bb29.

The 1767 census records that Georg Arnhold came from the German village of Friedersdorf.

Böhm (Biberstein)

Martin Böhm, a single weaver, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Martin Böhm is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Martin Böhm, a farmer, and his wife Katharina are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 88 along with a note that they settled in the colony of Biberstein in 1768.

Gropp (Norka)*

Johann Jakob Gropp, a farmer, and his mother Anna Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the pink Slon under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov along with Johann Jakob's sister Anna Elisabeth Brill and her family.

Neither Johann Jakob nor his mother appear to have survived the journey from Oranienbaum to the Volga German colony of Norka where Anna Elisabeth Brill and her family settled in 1767.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Gropp family among the Volga German colonies.

Konradÿ (Messer)

There are 3 Konradÿ families recorded in Messer. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.

(1) In 1793, Christian Konrad[ÿ] and his wife left Messer.

(2) Johannes Konrad[ÿ] and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Messer in Household No. Ms61.

(3) Heinrich Konrad[ÿ] from Messer and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Huck in Household No. Hk80.

Heinrich Konrad[ÿ] and his family are recorded on the 1811 census of Huck in Household No. 80.

Mohr (Warenburg-2)*

Friedrich Mohr, a butcher (Fleischer), and his wife Gertrude settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 12 May 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 34 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Warenburg in 1768.

The 1767 census records that Friedrich Mohr came from the German village of Oppenheim in the Kurpfalz region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Mohr family among the Volga German colonies.

Maxaner

Siblings Johann Maxaner (age 11) and Anna Maria Maxaner (age 8) are recorded on the 1767 census of Preuss in Household No. 71 along with their stepfather Sebastian Walkenbach.

The 1767 census does not record from where the Maxaner siblings came.
