Lang (Leichtling)

Peter Lang, a farmer, her wife Julianna, and children (Johann, age 12; Julianna, age 9; Melchior, age 6; Peter, age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson.

Peter Lang, a carpenter (Zimmermann), his wife Anna Maria Eiges, and children (Eva, age 12; Melchior, age 7) are recorded on the 1767 census of Leichtling in Household No 3. They had settled there on 14 May 1767.

Peter Lang and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Leichtling in Household No. Lg04.

Krieb

Sebastian Krieb, a single tailor, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum aboard the Russian galliot Katharina Eleonora under the command of the Skipper Peter Röder.

Sebastian Krieb, a farmer, his wife Barbara, and son Johannes (age 1-week) are recorded on the 1767 census of Leichtling in Household No. 8. They had settled there on 14 May 1767.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Sebastian Krieb came from the German region of Bamberg.

Groh (Leichtling)

There are three Groh families recorded from Leichtling. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.

(1) The widow and children of Sebastian Groh are recorded on the 1798 census of Leichtling in Household No. Lg08.

(2) Mattias Groh and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Leichtling in Household No. Lg31.

Gottfried Groh, son of Mattias Groh, and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Josefstal in Household No. 14.

Faret*

Jean Faure & Eliesabetha Margretha Albrecht were married on 16 March 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.

Johann Faret, a cobbler (Schuhmacher), and his wife Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Leichtling on 14 May 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 11.

The 1767 census records that Johann Faret came from the French village of Mont-de-Marsan.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.

Fritzmann (Leitsinger)

Christoph Fritzmann, a farmer, and his wife Kunigunda settled in the Volga German colony of Leitsinger on 15 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 84.

The 1767 census records that Christoph Fritzmann came from the German region of Kurpfalz.

Schneider (Leichtling)

Georg Schneider, a farmer, and his wife Barbara Arnold settled in the Volga German colony of Leichtling on 14 May 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 9.

Gottfried Schneider from Leichtling and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Marienfeld.

The 1767 census records that Georg Schneider came from the German village of Grano [?].

Molidor

Johannes Molidor, a farmer, and his wife Julianna settled in the Volga German colony of Leichtling on 14 May 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 6.

In 1852, Michael Molidor and his family moved from Leichtling to Marienfeld.

Michael Mollentor [sic] from Leichtling and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Marienfeld.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Molidor came from the German region of Saarbrücken.
