Bergheuser*

Maria Bergheuser (age 6) and her sister Anna (age 4) are recorded on the 1767 census of Susannental in Household No. 11 along with their stepfather Johann Philipp Nenner.

The 1767 census does not record from where the Bergheuser sisters came.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.

Bäcker / Becker (Susannental)*

The baptisms of the following children born in Fauerbach vor der Höhe to Martinus & Anna Catharina Becker are recorded in the parish register of Münster: (1) Elisabetha, baptized 24 July 1744; (2) Anna Catharina, baptized 28 February 1747; (3) Martinus, baptized 23 August 1749; (4) Anna Juliana, baptized 6 April 1754; (5) Johannes, 12 May 1758; and (6) Anna Elisabetha, 6 November 1760.

Oldest daughter Anna Elisabeth Becker married on 21 May 1766 in the Lutheran Cathedral (Evangelische Kirche Dom) in Lübeck to Christian Schmidt. [See Schmidt Family.]

Biebenbrück

Johann Konrad Biebenbrück, a furniture maker (Tischler), and his wife Eva Elisabeth are recorded on the 1767 census of Susannental in Household No. 19 along with stepdaughters [surname not recorded] (Katharina, age 13; Maria, age 7). They had settled there on 3 August 1767. A note on the 1767 census records that they relocated to the colony of Basel in 1768.

The 1767 census records that Johann Konrad Biebenbrück came from the German village of Braunschweig.

Straub (Straub)

Johann [Heinrich] Straub, a single weaver, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Jungfer Friederika under the command of Skipper Christian Korsholm.

Schmidt (Straub-3)

Christoph Schmidt, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Anna, age 17; Christoph, age 15; Margaretha, age 11; Elisabeth, age 8) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Jungfer Friederika under the command of Skipper Christian Korsholm.

The surviving children (Anna Maria, age 17; Christoph, age 16; Elisabeth, age 9) are recorded on the 1767 census of Straub in Household No. 1 where oldest daughter Anna Maria is married to Johann Heinrich Straub.

Stertz / Stürtz (Straub)

Johann Georg Stertz, a cooper (Faßbinder), and his wife Jakobina settled in the Volga German colony of Straub on 12 May 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in household No. 27.

The 1767 census records that Johann Georg Stertz came from the German village of Maikammer in the Bistum Speyer region.

Schunk (Straub)

Ludwig Schunk (age 18) is recorded on the 1767 census of Straub in Household No. 19 along with his stepfather Daniel Krotz.

The 1767 census does not record from where Ludwig Schunk came.

Reiger (Straub)

Johann Georg Reiger, a farmer, his wife Katharina Dorothea, and children (Anna Maria, age 8; Johann Philipp, age 6; Maria Charlotte, age 3-months) are recorded on the 1767 census of Straub in Household No. 22. They had settled there on 12 May 1767.

The 1767 census records that Johann Georg Reiger came from the German village of Dürrbach in the region of Sachsen (Saxony).
