Barret

Joseph Barret, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and son Peter Joseph (age 1) are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 65. They had settled there on 13 August 1767.

The 1767 census records that Joseph Barret came from the French region of Licques [?].

Bossel (Stahl am Tarlyk)*

Peter Bossel, a farmer, his wife Angelina, and sons (Thomas, age 9; Klaus, age 7; Peter, age ½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 3 June 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the command of Skipper Paul Adolph Drath. They settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 5 September 1767.

Peter Pasfehl [sic], his wife Anna Cathrina, and sons (Thomas Henrich, age 12; Clauss Petersen, age 10; Peter Henrich, age ¾) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Dreitzler

Johann Gottfried Dreitzler, a carpenter (Zimmermann), his wife Maria Elisabeth, and daughter Maria Dorothea (age 5-weeks) are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 53. They had settled there on 13 September 1767.

The 1767 census records that Johann Gottfried Dreitzler came from the German village of Zittau in the region of Sachsen (Saxony).

Frank (Stahl am Tarlyk)*

Johann Frank, his wife Appolonia (a midwife [Hebamme]), and children (Dorothea, age 17; Anna Katharina, age 15; Friedrich Christoph age 13; Johann Heinrich, age 6) are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 71 along with a note that the father Johann died on 26 September 1767. They had settled there on 13 September 1767.

The 1767 census records that Appolonia Frank came from the German town of Kiel.

Fischer (Stahl am Tarlyk)*

Johannes Fischer, a mason (Maurer), his wife Anna Maria, and daughter Regina Dorothea (age 8) are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 39. They had settled there on 5 September 1767.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Fischer came from the German village of Urach in the Württemberg region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Fischer family among the Volga German colonies.

Eshouf

Orphan Johann Eshouf (age 10) is recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 60 along with the Johannes Hassel family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Eshouf and Hassel families.

Riding*

Jakob Riding, a carpenter, his wife Anna, and children (Anna, age 17½; Leopold, age 5; Maria, age 2) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 25 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Maria Sophia under the command of Skipper Johann Bauert.

Jacob Riding and his stepdaughter Helena [surname not recorded] (age 20) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Riedlew*

Heinrich Riedlew, a farmer, his wife Anna, and son Johann Peter (age 6) are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 30. They had settled there on 5 September 1767.

The 1767 census records that Heinrich Riedlew came from the German village of Varel in the Oldenburg region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.

Scheidt (Stahl am Tarlyk)*

Gottfried Jeremias Scheidt, a shopkeeper (Krämer), and his wife Anna Katharina settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 13 September 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 52.

The 1767 census records that Gottfried Jeremias Scheidt came from the German town of Lübeck.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Scheidt family among the Volga German colonies.

Schung*

Detlef Schung and his wife Anna Magdalena settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 13 August 1767. He died 20 September 1767 and his widow remarried to Simon Hötsch. They are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 8.

The 1767 census does not record from where Detlef Schung came.
