Hein (Jost-2)

Johann August Hein, a farmer, and his wife Maria Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Jost on 5 September 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 71.

The 1767 census records that Johann August Hein came from the German village of Lindau in the region of Anhalt-Zerbst.

Hein (Jost-1)

Johann Christian Heine [sic] & Anna Elisabeth Zander were married on 16 April 1766 in Roßlau.

Christian Hein, a baker (Bäcker), and his wife Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Börse von Lübeck under the command of Skipper Martin Friedrich Markau.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Jost on 19 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 34.

The 1767 census records that Johann Christian Hein came from the German village of Kemberg in Sachsen (Saxony).

Heuser (Jost)*

Johann Georg Heuser (age 16) settled in the Volga German colony of Jost on 5 July 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 26 along with his stepfather Johann Friedrich Hauck.

The 1767 census does not record from where Johann Georg Heuser came.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Heuser family among the Volga German colonies.

Kunz (Jost)

Johann Michael Kunz, a carpenter (Zimmermann), his wife Dorothea, and daughter Maira Christina (age 1) are recorded on the 1767 census of Jost in Household No. 50. They had settled there on 19 August 1767.

The 1767 census records that Johann Michael Kunz came from the German village of Winterbach in the Schwaben (Swabia) region.

Gödicke*

Caspar Christian Edicke [sic], a weaver, his wife Rebekka Sophia, and children (Sophia, age 16; Johann Friedrich, age 12; Justina, age 9; Anna Maria, age 3½; Charlotta, age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Nord Stern under the command of Skipper Detlev Belling.

Hoffmann (Jost-2)

Johann[es] Hoffmann, a cobbler, his wife Dorothea, and children (Dorothea Sophia, age 13; Katharina Sophia, age 6; Johann August, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Der Engel Rafael under the command of Skipper Ehlert Kongsted.

Johannes Hoffmann, a cobbler (Schuhmacher), his wife Dorothea Elisabeth, and children (Dorothea Sophia, age 14; Katharina Sophia, age 10; Johann Joachim, age 1) are recorded on the 1767 census of Jost in Household No. 40. They had settled there on 16 August 1767.

Hausmann*

Christian Hausmann, a single cobbler, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 June 1766 aboard the ship named Die Neue Fortuna under the command of Skipper Ahrens Steingraber.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Jost on 5 July 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 22 along with new wife Anna Elisabeth.

The 1767 census records that Christian Hausmann came from the German town of Leipzig in Sachsen (Saxony).

There are no known surviving male lines of this Hausmann family among the Volga German colonies.
