Muthi

Franz Muth [sic], a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Louis on 14 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 21.

In 1788, Franz Muthi and his family moved from Louis to Rohleder.

Michael Muthi, presumed son of Franz Muthi, and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Rohleder in Household No. Rl22.

Michael Muthi and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Louis in Household No. 16.

The 1767 census records that Franz Muth [sic] came from the German village of Sierck in the Lothringen region.

Mengel

Widow Anna Elisabeth Mengel and her children arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Der Engel Rafael under the command of Skipper Ehlert Kongsted.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach on 13 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 9.

The 1767 census records that Elisabeth Mengel came from the German Busecker Tal (Busecker Valley) in the Darmstadt region.

Mensinger (Köhler)

There are two Mensinger families that settled in the Volga German colony of Köhler on 21 August 1767. They both arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum aboard the pink Cargo under the command of Lieutenant Moses Davydov.

(1) Jakob Mensing (age 25) and his family are recorded on the 1767 census of Köhler in Household No. 67.

(2) Eberhard Mensing (age 31) and his family are recorded on the 1767 census of Köhler in Household No. 76.

Merk (Laub)

Johann Michael Merck was born about 1680 and died 22 February 1735 in Imsbach. He married 20 January 1714 in Dielkirchen to Anna Ottilia Bender. They had the following children: (1) Anna Elisabeth, baptized 22 September 1715 in Münchweiler; (2) Maria Margaretha, born 20 October 1717, baptized 28 October 1718 in Münchweiler; (3) Johannes, baptized 27 April 1719 in Münchweiler; and (4) Johann Valentin, baptized 7 December 1721 in Münchweiler, died 21 November 1724. Anna Ottilia Bender died and Johann Michael remarried on 13 April 1723 in Imsbach to Anna Magdalena Bugor.

Merker (Boisroux)

Friedrich Merk [sic], a cobbler (Schuhmacher), and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Friderich Mirck [sic], his wife Sophia, and children (Carl, age 6; Johanna, age 4; Friderich, born en route) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Müller (Boisroux-1)

An article by Hermann Wäschke records the following:

Christian Müller, a carpenter's helper (Zimmerbursche), from Oranienbaum, originating in Jonitz in the district of Dessau, left with two other persons.

Johann Christian Müller and Johanna Louisa Ziegler were married 12 October 1765 in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lübeck.

Paris*

An article by Hermann Wäschke records the following:

Andreas Paris, a tenant (Mietsmann) from Quellendorf, with wife and two daughters.

Andreas Paris, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Andreas Paries, his wife Anna Sophia, and daughter Anna Sophia [age not recorded] are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Reichert (Boisroux-2)

Johann [Heinrich] Reichert, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

Joh. Heinr. Reichert, his wife Eleonora, and sons (Johan Georg, age 9½; Johann Heinrich, age 8½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

In 1790, Heinrich Reichert moved from Boisroux to Katharinenstadt.
