Friedental (1)
Before 1850, Friedental was founded along the Nakhoi River by colonists resettling from Graf, Herzog, Louis, Mariental, and Rohleder.
There was a parochial school in Friedental from the time that the colony was founded.
In the 1860s, Friedental was abandoned and the colonists were relocated to the colony of Liebental.
The original settlers to Friedental were Roman Catholic. When it was founded, the congregation in Friedental belonged to the parish headquartered in Mariental. When Liebental became an independent parish in 1861, the congregation in Friedental was affiliated with it.
In the first years, worship services were held in the school building. In 1856, a wooden church was constructed. When the settlement was abandoned, the church was dismantled and relocated to the colony of Liebental.
