Stürtz (Laub)

Johann Martin Stürtz, a baker (Bäker), his wife Elisabeth, and children (Anna Elisabeth, age 10; Konrad, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 June 1766 aboard the ship named Die Neue Fortuna under the command of Skipper Ahrens Steingraber.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Laub on 12 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 27.

The 1767 census records that Johann Martin Stürtz came from the German village of Rosenfeld in the Württemberg region.

Sturm (Brabander)

Matthias Sturm, a farmer, his wife Magdalena, and sons (Peter, age 14½; Johann, age 13; Johann, age 2½; Christian, age ¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the Skipper Paul Adam Drath.

Matthias Sturm, his wife Magdalena, and sons (Peter, age 14½; Johann, age 13; Johann [again], age 2½; Christian, age ¼) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that the two youngest sons died en route.

Stupp*

Peter Stupp, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the ship Der Junge Heinrich under the command of Skipper Heinrich Niemann.

Peter Stupp, his wife Anna Christina, and children (Heinrich Wilhelm, age 9; Johann Heinrich, age 5; Elisabeth, age 3) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that daughter Elisabeth died en route.

Strupp

Bernhard Strupp and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the pink Novaya Dvinka under the command of Lieutenant Perepechin.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Huck on 17 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 68.

The 1767 census records that Bernhard Strupp came from the German region of the Kurpfalz.

Meckel (Stahl am Tarlyk)

Johann Michael Meckel, a hunter (Jäger), and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig Mercurius under the command of Skipper Christian Heinrich Abelßen.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 13 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 25.

The 1767 census records that Johann Meckel came from the German village of Baruth in the region of Sachsen (Saxony).

Max

Franz Max, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Der Junge Mattias under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Selander.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dehler on 1 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 4.

The 1767 census records that Franz Max came from the German village of Waterheim in the area of Leiningen.

Mauter

Jurgen Mauder [sic] (age 20) from Franconia arrived in the city of Schleswig on 17 March 1761 as a single person. He swore allegiance to King Friedrich of Denmark on 24 July 1761.

The parish register of St. Michael's Church in Schleswig [Denmark] records on 24 February 1762 the marriage of Jürgen Mauder from Franconia to Anna Christina Schultz.

The parish register of St. Michael's Church in Schleswig also records on 19 June 1763 the baptism of Johann Georg Mauder, son of Johann Georg & Anna Christina Mauder.
