Wagner (Preuss)

Johannes Wagner, a cobbler (Schuhmacher), his wife Elisabeth, and his [step-]son Johannes [Bechter] (age 8) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 June 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Der Jäger under the command of Skipper Gabriel Will.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 53 along with stepson Johannes Bechter.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Wagner came from the village of Remich in Luxembourg.

Braun (Preuss)

Gerhard Braun, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 12 May 1767.  They are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 50.

The 1767 census records that Gerhard Braun came from the German village of Hüffelsheim in the Kurmainz.

Pollet (Preuss)

Johann Pollet, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and daughters (Margaretha, age 19; Barbara, age 12) arrived from Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 31 May 1766 aboard the pink Slon under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.

Johannes Pollet, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and daughter Barbara (age 14) are recorded on the 1767 census of Preuss in Household No. 47. They had settled there on 12 May 1767.

Bäcker / Becker (Preuss-6)*

August Bäcker, a weaver (Weber), and his wife Anna Margaretha arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 June 1766 aboard the ship named Die Neue Fortuna under the command of Skipper Ahrens Steingraber.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 103.

The 1767 census records that August Bäcker came from the French town of Cambrai.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Bäcker family among the Volga German colonies.

Bäcker / Becker (Preuss-5)

Peter Becker, a farmer, his wife Maria, and son Wilhelm (age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the ship Mann und Frau under the command of Skipper Daniel Berg.

Peter Bäcker, a farmer, his wife Maria Eva, and children (Johann Wilhelm, age 6; Bartolameus, age ½) settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 1 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 92.

Bäcker / Becker (Preuss-4)*

Martin Becker, a farmer, his wife Anna, and daughters (Maria, age 18; Anna, age 12) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the ship Mann und Frau under the command of Skipper Daniel Berg.

Martin Bäcker, a farmer, his wife Anna Maria, and daughter Anna Maria (age 14) settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 91.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Martin Bäcker came from the German region of Nassau.

Christian Becker, a farmer, his wife Maria, and daughters (Anna, age 21; Susanna, age 16) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the ship Mann und Frau under the command of Skipper Daniel Berg.

Christian Bäcker, a farmer, his wife Anna Katharina, and daughter Maria Susanna (age 14) settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 424.
