Kornborn*

Joseph Carbon from Holland & Anna Maria Reinheimer, widow of Andreas Reinheimer from Hhaag [sic] were married on 3 April 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.

Joseph Kornborn, his wife Anna Maria, and daughter Sophia Elisabeth (age 2½)  arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the pink Novaya Dvinka under the command of Lieutenant Perepechin. 

Kühlthau / Kildau (Norka)

There are 3 Kühlthau families that settled in the Volga German colony of Norka. They came from neighboring villages in Germany. The first 2 are siblings, but the relationship to the third, if any, requires further research.

(1) Catharina Elisabeth Külthau, daughter of Johannes Külthau & Barbara Dorn, was born in Oberzell and baptized on 1 May 1740.

Elisabeth Külthau married on 9 February 1764 in Oberzell to Johannes Hölzer.

Lofink (Norka)

The baptisms of two children of Hans Heinrich & Anna Catharina Lofink from Wüstwillenroth are recorded in the parish register of Lichenroth: (1) Johann Heinrich, born 8 January 1746; and (2) Lorenz, born 21 April 1753. [Maggie Hein reports that there are several men named Hans/Johann Heinrich Lofink living in the parish at this time, and two of those were married to women named Anna Catharina, so exactly how the ancestry continues beyond these two boys will require additional research.]

Mosebach (Norka)

Johann Heinrich Mosebach, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and sons (Andreas, age 15; Johann Heinrich, age 12) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 September 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Strelna under the command of Lieutenant Sornev.

Heinrich Mosebach, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and sons (Andreas, age 15; Johann Heinrich, age 13) are recorded on the 1767 census of Norka in Household No. 138. They had settled in Norka on 15 August 1767.

Heinrich Mosebach and his family are recorded on the 1811 census of Norka in Household No. 84.

Moritz (Norka)*

Johann Heinrich Moritz, son of Johannes Moritz from Stärklos & Anna Margaretha Rüders from Sandlofs, was baptized on 8 May 1708. He was confirmed at the parish church in Kruspis in 1722. 

Johann Heinrich Moritz married Anna Maria [surname unknown]. A daughter, Anna Eva Moritz, was born on 19 December 1739 in Stärklos [known as Sterckels at this time]. She was confirmed at the parish church in Kruspis in 1753. 

Ann Eva was married on 7 May 1766 in Büdingen to Johann Wilhelm Becker from Ronshausen.

Spieker

Johann Konrad Spiecker & Anna Kunigunda Geil were married on 17 May 1766 in the Reformed Church in Lübeck.

Konrad Spiecker and his wife Anna Kunigunda from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 September 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Strelna under the command of Lieutenant Sornev.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 15 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 89.

Lehm*

Friedrich Lehm, a farmer, and his wife, Anna Barbara, settled in the Volga German colony of Kautz on 20 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 7 along with their new-born daughter, Charlotte, and step-daughter, Anna Barbara.

In 1788, widow Barbara Lehm moved from Kautz to Dietel.

Daughter Anna Charlotta Lehm from Kautz is recorded on the 1798 census of Kolb in Household No. Ko18 as the wife of Johann Heinrich Schneider.

The 1767 census records that Friedrich Lehm came from the German town of Berlin in Prussen (Prussia).

Michel (Dietel-2)

Heinrich Paul Michel, a farmer, and his wife, Katharina, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 on a ship under the command of skipper Johann Grapp.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dietel where they are recorded on the 1798 census in Household No. Dt65.

In 1793, Johann Wendel Michel moved from Dietel to Bauer.

The passenger list in Oranienbaum records that this Michel family came from the German region of the Pfalz. Andreas Idt and Georg Rauschenbach report that Heinrich Paul Michel came from the German village of Wallertheim.

Michel (Dietel-1)

Wilhelm Michel, a carpenter, and his wife, Anna, arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a Russian packet-boat named Severnyi Orel (Northern Eagle) under the command of Lieutenant Pyotr Malenkov.  They settled in the Volga German colony of Dietel on 1 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 38.

In 1794, Wilhelm Michel and his family moved from Dietel to Bauer.
