Schul(t)z (Katharinenstadt-2)

Nikolaus Schulz, a carpenter (Tischler), and his wife Johanna Maria van der Nauweland settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 27 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 75.

Nikolaus Schultz (age 36), his wife Johanna Marie von d. Nauwelandt (age 39), and sons (Gregorius Christof, born 9 April 1776; Johann, born 4 March 1779) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register in Household No. 1.

In 1783, Nikolaus Schulz and his family left Katharinenstadt.

Schlister*

Joseph Schlister, a miller (Müller), his wife Barbara, and his daughter from a previous marriage Kunigunda (age 8) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 46. They had settled there on 27 August 1766.

The 1767 census records that Joseph Schlister came from the German village of Pentmainz [?] in the region of Böhmen (Bohemia).

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.

Sachse (Katharinenstadt-2)*

Johann Gottlieb Sachse, a cobbler (Schuhmacher), his wife Friederika Augusta Winter, and daughters (Friederika, age 10; Sophia, age 6) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 74. They had settled there on 27 August 1766.

The 1767 census records that Johann Gottlieb Sachse came from the German village of Dresden in Sachsen (Saxony) and that his wife Friederika Augusta Winter had come from the German region of Anhalt-Zerbst.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.

Rösner (Katharinenstadt)

Thobias [sic] Jacob Rüsener & Johanna Dorothea Schmidt were married 2 September 1766 in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lübeck.

Tobias Jakob Rösner, a carpenter (Zimmermann) and miller (Müller), and his wife Maria Ohlschmidt settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 17 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 150.

The 1767 census records that Tobias Jakob Rösner came from the German village of Frose in Sachsen (Saxony).

Richter (Katharinenstadt-3)

Geisbert Richter, a weaver (Weber), and his wife Anna settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 27 August 1766 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 80.

The 1767 census records that Geisbert Richter came from the German village of Reiseweken [?].

Richter (Katharinenstadt-2)

Johannes Richter, a carpenter (Tischler), and his wife Johanna Bosch settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 27 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 45.

In 1786, Johannes Richter and his family left Katharinenstadt.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Richter came from the German village of Wischef [?] near Mähren and that Johanna Bosch came from the Dutch town of Amsterdam in Holland.

Diesendorf

Joseph Ressendorf [sic], a turner (Dreher), and his wife Katharina settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 17 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 56.

Widow Christina Diesendorf née Deltz and her children are recorded on the 1798 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. Ka071.

The 1767 census records that Joseph Ressendorf [sic] came from the German village of Lauschburg [?] in Bayern (Bavaria).

Reimer (Katharinenstadt)*

Jakob Reimer, a combmaker (Kam[pel]macher), and his wife Anna settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 23 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 151.

The 1767 census records that Jakob Reimer came from the German region of Magdeburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Reimer family among the Volga German colonies.
