Weinbender (Müller)

Johann[es] Weinbender, a single farmer, and his sister Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the pink Slon under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Müller on 16 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 34 along with his new wife Anna Maria.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann[es] Weinbender came from the German region of Isenburg. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Karbach in the Isenburg region.

Lehl (Pfeifer)

Johannes Lehl, a single farmer, settled in the Volga German colony of Pfeifer on 22 August 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 108 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Kamenka in 1768.

He is next recorded on the 1798 census of Pfeifer in Household No. Pf03.

Georg Lehl from Pfeifer and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Marienfeld.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Lehl came from the German region of Würzburg.

Kasimirow

[Johann] Heinrich Kasimirow, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Anna Katharina are recorded on the 1767 census of Grimm in Household No. 30.

Johann Heinrich Kasimirow, his wife Anna Katharina, and children (Anna Sililla, age 3; Heinrich August, age 1½) are recorded on an appendix to the 1775 census of Grimm (No. 4).

The 1767 census records that Heinrich Kasimirow came from the Polish region of Warsaw [Warschau in German].

This surname does not appear to continue among the Volga German colonies.

Hessenbeie*

Jakob Hessenbeie, his wife Maria Elisabeth, and son Jakob immigrated to Russia. Father Jakob died and his widow remarried to Friedrich Marquardt.

The Marquardts are recorded on the 1767 census of Grimm in Household No. 34 along with stepson Jakob Hessenbeie (age 7).

The Marquardts are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 112, but Jakob Hessenbeie is not recorded there so is assumed to have died.

This surname is not known to continue among the Volga German colonies.

Berger (Grimm)*

Widow Louisa Berger is recorded on the 1767 census of Grimm in Household No. 68 along with her daughter and son-in-law Jakob Schott.

She is also recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 143.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Berger family among the Volga German colonies.

Batz (Grimm)

Johann Batz, his wife [Anna] Kunigunda, and children (Anna, age 4; Johann, age 1½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the pink Lev under the command of Lieutenant Fyodor Fyodorov.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 2.

The 1775 census of Grimm records them in Household No. 96.

Johannes Batz and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Grimm in Household No. Gm113.

Bäcker / Becker (Grimm-1)

Jost Bäcker, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Anna Katharina are recorded on the 1767 census of Grimm in Household No. 53 along with orphan Johann Konrad Waffel (age 19). The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Bäcker and Waffel families.

Jost Becker, his wife Katharina, and sons (Andreas, age 6; Johann Peter, age 3; Johann Kaspar, age 1¾) are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 130 along with his brother Johann Peter (age 18) [it is not known where Johann Peter Becker appears on the 1767 census].

Andrian*

Woldemar Andrian and his family immigrated to Russia. His widow Anna Margaretha remarried to Lebrecht Vogel and is recorded on the 1767 census of Grimm in Household No. 51 along with her children Philipp Karl Andrian (age 13) and Johann Wilhelm Andrian (age 6½).

The 1767 census does not record from where the Andrian family came.

There are no known male surviving male lines of this Adrian family among the Volga German colonies.

Benner (Grimm)*

Peter Benner, his wife Anna Maria, and sister Susanna are recorded on the 1767 census of Grimm in Household No. 77.

They are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 77.

The 1767 census records that Peter Benner came from the German region of Darmstadt.

There do not appear to be male descendants with this surname among the Volga German colonies.
