Winterberg (Paulskaya)*

Leonhard Winterberg, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

Leonhard Weinberger [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Paulskaya and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 7 along with the Gottlieb Lehmann family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Lehmann and Winterberg families.

Walachowski*

Joachim [sic] Walachowski, a farmer, his wife Louisa, and daughter Katharina (age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Paulskaya on 23 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 17.

Stark (Paulskaya)

Anton Stark, his wife Katharina, and daughter [Sus]anna (age 3½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Paulskaya on 23 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 19.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Anton Stark was a farmer from the German region of Hamburg. The 1767 census records that he was a goldsmith (Goldschmied) from the German region of Hamburg.

Rüder (Wittmann)

Andreas Rüder, his wife Appolonia, and children (Margaretha, age 12; Christian, age 9¼; Paulus, age 5½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 September 1766.

Andreas Ruder, his wife Appolonia, and children (Margaretha, age 12; Christian, age 9½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Nuss (Wittmann)*

Johann [Georg] Nuss, a tailor (Schneider), and his wife Ursula [Wahl] are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Kaneau (No. 15) along with a note that they relocated to the Volga German colony of Wittmann in 1768.

They are recorded there on the 1798 census in Household No. Wm30.

Georg Nuss died in Wittmann in 1822.

The 1767 census records that Johann [Georg] Nuss came from the German village of Lauda.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.

Leipfried

Joseph Leinfried [sic] arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.

Joseph Liebfried [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Joseph Leipfried, a miller (Müller), and his wife Maria are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Beauregard (No. 25).

Joseph Leipfried and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Wittmann in Household No. Wm23.
