Eberhard(t) (Brabander-2)

Widow Katharina Eberhardt and her son Johann (age 14½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Kronshlot under the command of Skipper Ivan Kunakovskii.

Son Johann is recorded on the 1767 census of Brabander in Household No. 91 along with his sister Katharina and her husband Wilhelm Zimmer.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Katharina Eberhardt came from the Alsace region (along the French/German border).

Stumpf (Balzer)

Johannes Stumpf, son of Johann Conrad & Johanna Maria Stumpf from Rothenbergen, was baptized on 10 July 1718.

He married on 29 February 1748 to Anna Christina Amalia Ruppel, daughter of Johann Georg Ruppel from Langendiebach.

Anna Christina Amalia Ruppel had been born 7 November 1726 and baptized 10 November 1726 in Langendiebach.

Schlegel (Balzer)

Philipp Schlegel, a farmer, and his wife Maria Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Balzer on 18 June 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 65 along with orphans Johann Martin Euler (age 12) & Johannes Euler (age 8), sons of the deceased Jakob Eiler. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Schlegel & Euler families.

On 26 April 1789, Sophia Schlegel from Balzer received permission to relocate to Sarepta.

The 1767 census records that Philipp Schlegel came from the German region of Isenburg.

Kreiter (Lauwe)

Friedrich Kräuter from Neu-Wiedermus married on 14 March 1763 in Hüttengesäs to Anna Maria Schneider, daughter of Johannes Schneider from Neu-Wiedermus.

Friedrich Kräuter, a farmer, his wife Anna Elisabeth, and daughter Maria Barbara (age 1½) settled in the Volga German colony of Balzer on 1 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 81.

Philipp Krauter from Balzer, presumed son of Friedrich Krauter, and his family recorded on the 1798 census of Lauwe in Household No. Lw16.

Dietrich (Dietel)

Lorenz Dietrich, son of Johannes Dietrich, and Maria Magdalena Daut, daughter of Heinrich Daut, were married on 2 May 1742 in Weisenheim am Sand (Bad Dürkheim). They had a number of children whose baptisms are recorded in Weisenheim: (1) Anna Margaretha, baptized 26 July 1744; (2) Johann Jakob, baptized 23 April 1747; and (3) Andreas, baptized 8 November 1750. Lorenz Dietrich died and was buried 1 July 1753 in Weisenheim. Maria Magdalena died 28 February 1754 in Weisenheim.

Mechwart*

Kaspar Mechwart, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and daughters (Katharina, age 11; Elisabeth, age 8; Elisabeth, age 2) are recorded on the 1767 census of Dönhof in Household No. 86. They had arrived in Dönhof on 18 June 1767.

The 1767 census records that Kaspar Mechwart came from the German region of Würzburg.

There are no known surviving male descendants of this family among the Volga German colonies.

Kraus (Dönhof)*

Margaretha Kraus, 18-year-old orphan of Heinrich Kraus, settled in the Volga German colony of Dönhof and is recorded there on the 1767 census in household No. 76 along with widow Margaretha Reil, her son Wilhelm, and orphan Konrad Nafts. The 1767 census does not record a relationship among the Reil, Nafts, and Kraus families.

The 1767 census records that Margaretha Kraus came from the German village of Gelnhausen.

There are no known surviving male descendants of this Kraus family among the Volga German colonies.
