Bartel (Stahl am Tarlyk-1)*

Johann Bartel, his mother, and his stepfather Martin/Matthias Eske arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Der Engel Rafael under the command of Skipper Ehlert Kongsted.

They settled in the Volga German colony of  Stahl am Tarlyk on 5 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 33.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Bartel family among the Volga German colonies.

Berns (Stahl am Tarlyk)

Klaus Berns, a farmer, his wife, and his stepchildren arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Der Engel Rafael under the command of Skipper Ehlert Kongsted.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 13 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 23.

The 1767 census records that Nikolaus Berns came from the German village of Lonez in the Holstein region.

Brunckhorst*

Nikolaus Brunckhorst, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and daughter Katharina [age not recorded] arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 June 1766 aboard the ship named Der Junge Heinrich under the command of Skipper Heinrich Niemann.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 22.

The 1767 census records that NIkolaus Brunckhorst came from the German village of Wilhelmsburg in the region of Hamburg.

Appel (Stahl am Karaman)

Johann Caspar Appel from Heiligenkreutz in the district of Thüngen [Thüringen?] & Catharina Eliesabeth Keil, daughter of the deceased Pfeiffer Keil from Büdingen, were married on 14 April 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.

Kaspar Appel, a farmer, and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Karaman where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 48.

Schneider (Stahl am Karaman)

There are two Schneider families that arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Kronshlot under the command of Skipper Ivan Kunakovskii and settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Karaman on 22 June 1767.

They are presumed to be father and son:

(1) Johann Schneider, a farmer, his wife Margaretha, and daughter Margaretha (age 22) arrived in Oranienbaum.

Schnarr (Stahl am Karaman)

Johann Schnarr, a farmer, his wife Dorothea, and children (Anna, age 19; Magdalena, age 16; Johann, age 13; Bartel, age 11; Michael, age 6; Kaspar, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Kronshlot under the command of Skipper Ivan Kunakovskii.

Schiffler (Stahl am Karaman)

Margaretha Elisabeth Schieffler, daughter of Borchert [sic] Schieffler & Maria Catharina Krämer, was baptized on 20 June 1766 in the Lutheran Cathedral (Evangelical Kirche Dome) in Lübeck.

Bernhard Schiffler, a farmer, his wife Maria, and daughters (Anna, age 6; Margaretha, age 4; Elisabeth, age ¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Kronshlot under the command of Skipper Ivan Kunakovskii.

Roth (Stahl am Karaman)*

Andreas Roth, a farmer, and his wife Anna Barbara arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Kronshlot under the command of Skipper Ivan Kunakovskii.

Andreas died after arrival in Russia, and his widow settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Karaman on 22 June 1767 where she is recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 41.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that the Roths came from the German region of Dienheim.

Ott (Stahl am Karaman)

Melchior Ott, a farmer, his wife Susanna, and sons ([a] Johann, age 20; [b] Michael, age 16; [c] Johann [Friedrich], age 12) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Kronshlot under the command of Skipper Ivan Kunakovskii.

Widow Susanna Ott and her sons (Johannes, age 22; Johann Michael, age 16; Friedrich, age 12) are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Karaman in Household No. 30. They had settled there on 22 June 1767.
