Loresch (Stahl am Karaman)

There are 3 Johann Loresch families that settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Karaman on 22 June 1767 after arriving from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Kronshlot under the command of Skipper Ivan Kunakovskii. Two of them are recorded as siblings on the Oranienbaum passenger list (1 & 3). The other one is presumed to be related.

(1) Johannes Loresch (age 21) and his wife Elisabeth are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Karaman in Household No. 34.

Henneberg(er)

Johann Caspar Henneberger, son of Johannes (1692 - 20 March 1762) & Margaretha (1675 - 10 February 1739) Henneberger, was born in 1713 in Thuringia. He married in Zeitlofs on 18 February 1738 to Elisabeth Margareth Märtin, daughter of Martin Märtin. She had been born in 1717 in Dittlofsroda. They have 6 known children, each born in Weißenbach: (1) Dorothea, born 29 November 1738; (2) Johann Adam, born in 1739; (3) Catharina, born in 1744; (4) Eva Elisabeth, born 8 July 1745; (5) Johann Caspar, born 11 December 1748; and (6) Philippus, born 12 January 1752.

Jäger (Stahl am Karaman)*

Johann Melchior Jäger, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard a packet-boat under the command of Midshipman Mankensey.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Karaman on 15 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 8.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Melchior Jäger came from the German region of Hanau while the 1767 census records that he came from the area of Friedberg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Jäger family among the Volga German colonies.

Niederqell

In 1787, Konrad Gottfried Niederquell moved from Schulz to Graf.

Konrad Niederquell from Schulz is recorded on the 1798 census of Graf in Household No. Gf11 along with his brothers (Gottfied, age 20; Heinrich, age 6) and mother Katharina Leidecker née Isferdin [?].

Philipp Niederquell and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Schulz in Household No. Sz15.

Eckhardt (Schulz)

Johann Georg Eckhardt, a craftsman (Handwerker), his wife Maria Katharina, and son Johann Joachim (age 13) are recorded on the 1767 census of Schulz in Household No. 18. They had arrived in Schulz on 8 September 1766.

Melchior Eckhardt, presumed son of Joachim Eckhardt, from Herzog and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Rohleder in Household No. Rl13 along with his widowed mother.

The 1767 census records that Johann Georg Eckhardt came from the German region of Hessen-Kassel.

Geise

Michael Geise, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Schulz on 8 September 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 17.

The 1767 census records that Michael Geise came from the German village of Barby in the region of Sachsen (Saxony).

Schröder (Schulz)

Johann Gottfried Schröder, a craftsman (Handwerker), settled in the Volga German colony of Schulz on 8 September 1766. He and his family are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 16.

The 1767 census records that Johann Gottfried Schröder came from the German city of Berlin in the region of Prussia.

Wittheft

Johann Jakob Wittheft, a craftsman (Handwerker), settled in the Volga German colony of Schulz on 8 September 1766. He and his wife are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 15.

The 1767 census records that Johann Jakob Wittheft came from the German city of Berlin in the region of Prussia. The 1767 census also records that his wife, Cecilia, came from the Danish village of Altenau.
