Schmidt (Grimm-3)

Johann Herman Schmidt, son of Johann Schmidt & Anna Katharina Kempf, was born 26 October 1736 in Hergersdorf. He married Anna Katharina Scharmann, daughter of Georg Friedrich & Katharina Elisabeth Scharmann, on 7 October 1762 in Hopfgarten.

The births of two of their children are recorded on the parish register of Unter-Sorg: (1) Anna Katharina, born 6 November 1761; (2) Anna Margaretha, born 29 November 1765.

Müller (Grimm-2)*

Johannes [Georg] Müller, a single man, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the pink Lev under the command of Lieutenant Fyodor Fyodorov.

He and his wife Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 18.

They are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 102.

Röder (Grimm)

Wilhelm Röder, a carpenter (Tischler), his wife Anna Eva, and stepson Konrad Helfrich Wiltendorf are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 137.

In 1788, Wilhelm Röder left Grimm.

The 1767 census records that Wilhelm Röder came from the German village of Weimar in the region of Sachsen (Saxony).

Reizenstein

Melchior Reizenstein and his family are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 76.

In 1788, Michael Reizenstein and his wife moved from Rothammel to Grimm.

In 1789, Jakob Reizenstein and his wife moved from Rothammel to Grimm.

Melchior Reizenstein and his sons (Johann Michael, age 31; Johann Friedrich, age 15) are recorded on the 1798 census of Grimm in Household No. Gm147.

Reizenstein descendants are recorded on the 1834 census of Grimm in Households No. 253, 255, & 288.

Pikus

Georg Pikus, his wife Dorothea, and son Christian immigrated to Russia. Georg died, and his widow remarried to Christian Hendel and is recorded along with son Christian on the 1767 census of Grimm in Household No. 32.

Christian Pikus is recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 20.

The 1767 census records that he came from the German region of Pommern (Pomerania).

Pea

Johann Heinrich Pea, his sister Katharina, and her husband Martin Schröder arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Concordia under the command of Skipper Jakob Bauert.

Martin Schröder, his wife Katharina, and brother-in-law Johann Heinrich Pea are recorded on the 1767 census of Grimm in Household No. 50.

Martin Schröder and his family along with brother-in-law Johann Heinrich Pea are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 127.

In 1790, Heinrich Pea moved from Grimm to Stahl am Tarlyk.

Eckhardt (Kraft)

Widow Anna Katharina Eckhardt and her son Johann Heinrich (age 19) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the hooker Die Jungfer Dietrika under the command of Skipper Christian Korsholm.

Johann Heinrich Eckhard is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 travelling with Nicolas & Elisabeth Schneider.

Borger (Kraft)

Anton Borger, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Anna Margaretha, age 15; Johannes, age 14) are recorded on the 1767 census of Kraft in Household No. 24. They had settled in Kraft on 18 August 1767.

In 1788, Heinrich Borger (recorded as Becker) moved from Kraft to Stephan. He does not appear on the 1798 census of Stephan.

Schneider (Kraft-2)

Nicholas Schneider appears in the records of Steinbach, identified as the son of Jacob Schneider of Lich.  In 1758, Nicholas married in Lich to Anna Maria Becker, daughter of Johann Conrad Becker & Anna Catharina Reuschling.  Anna Maria had been baptized 22 June 1735 in Steinbach.  They had two children born in Steinbach, both of whom died as infants.

Nicholas is recorded in Steinbach as fleeing to Russia in 1766 "mit einer Dirne" - with a whore.
