Schwei(t)zer (Kukkus)

Johann Friedrich Schweizer, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a koff named Alette under the command of Skipper Wybe Hendricks.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Kukkus on 26 June 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 11.

The 1767 census records that Johann Friedrich Schweizer came from the German village of Biskirchen near Braunfels.

Schwar(t)z (Rothammel)

Peter Schwarz, a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp.

Peter Schwarz and his wife Elisabeth are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Rothammel on 21 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 17.

The 1767 census records that Peter Schwarz came from the German village of Bidlingen in the Lothringen region.

Schwar(t)z (Orlovskaya)

Johann Ludwig Schwarz, a hunter (Jäger), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Ludew. Schwartz is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Orlovskaya on 7 June 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 89.

Schwar(t)z (Keller)*

Johann Michael Schwarz, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the hooker Anna Catharina under the Skipper Adolph Scharpenberg.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Keller on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 69.

The 1767 census records that Johann Michael Schwarz came from the German village of Welshofen in the Kurpfalz region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Schwarz family among the Volga German colonies.

Schwar(t)z (Kamenka)*

Johannes Schwarz, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Johannes Schwarz, a farmer, his wife Eva, and children (Weigand, age 20; Katharina, age 7)  are recorded on the 1767 census of Kamenka in Household No. 81. They had settled there on 20 June 1767.

Weigand Schwartz and his family (all daughters) are recorded on the 1798 census of Kamenka in Household No. Km006.

Schunk (Mariental)

Adam Schunk, a craftsman (Handwerker), settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental on 15 July 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 85 along with his new wife Anna (from the Kurtrier region).

The 1767 census records that Adam Schunk came from the German village of Kissingen in the region of Würzburg.

Schul(t)z (Paulskaya)

Jakob Schulz, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Jacob Schultz, his wife Maria, and children (Johann Jacob, age 13; Dorothea, age 8) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Paulskaya on 7 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 78.
