Kleingartach is located about 25 kilometers west of Heilbronn. During the governmental consolidations of 1971-1972, Kleingartach became administratively part of the municipality of Eppingen.
The German village of Kleingartach is located today in the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The history of St. Martin's Lutheran church in Kleingartach is first documented in 1109. The existing tower was renovated in 1468. In 1721, balconies were added around three sides of the sanctuary. The tower was renovated again in 1929. After being struck by lightening in 1955, extensive renovations revealed frescoes dating back to 1537.
