Today, Hüttengesäß is administratively part of the municipality of Ronneburg.
Church:
As early as 1151, there is documentation of a chapel in the village of Hüttengesäß. The tower of the current facility dates back to this time. The first church bell was added to the tower in 1538.
In 1579, the nave was completely renovated and a second balcony was added to accommodate the worshipers of the growing community. A clock was added to the bell tower in 1687. In 1718, the nave was once again extended to accommodate more worshipers. During the renovation of 1953, the upper balcony was removed as well as the sound cover over the pulpit, and the organ was moved to its present location.
The current organ dates back to 1892.
