Rohleder was founded on 14 June 1766 by colonists who had been recruited by LeRoi & Pictet.
It was named after its first mayor (Vorsteher) Georg Rohleder from the region of Bamberg.
Today, what remains of the former colony of Rohleder is known as Raskatovo.
The original colonists of Rohleder were of the Roman Catholic faith practice.
According to the 1798 Census of Rohleder, there was already a church building in the colony, but there was not a resident priest.
A new church, constructed of stone, was built and dedicated to the "Mother of God."
The congregation in Rohleder was served by the following priests:
